Directions: In Iowa the minimum age requirement to begin the licensing process is 14 years old. When you are ready and eligible, you will take your permit test at a local DOT office. This is a crucial test to pass. If you do not pass the state permit test, you will not receive your permit. Passing the Iowa Permit Test will demonstrate your understanding of Iowa traffic laws, road signs, speed limits and traffic violations.

The Iowa permit test consists of 35 multiple-choice questions. To pass and move onto the next part of the licensing process, you will need to answer 28 of those 35 questions correctly. These practice permit tests will you give a good sense of whether you can pass the Iowa’s real permit Test.
